White glue paints based on Champagne chalk have a long tradition in mural and picture painting. The chalk, being opaque and having a warm coloration that can be traced back to cretaceous mollusk shells, has always been popular among artists. It was used as a sole pigment for white glue paints, and also to lighten other colors. This white, which is made of Veronese green earth lightened with Champagne chalk, draws on these cretaceous color traces to achieve its natural effect and its ability to harmonize with other colors.
