Farbfunktion - dynamic

Wirksamkeit - best in the shadows

The Scrovgni Chapel in Padua is illuminated by a magnificent blue vaulted ceiling. The 14th century artist Giotto was captivated by the pigment ultramarine blue. In 1816, Karl Friedrich Schinkel used ultramarine blue to design the stage set for the Queen of the Night's Hall of Stars in Mozart's opera The Magic Flute. The unique chemistry of the pigment can be explained, but its fascination cannot. Early in the company's history, we set ourselves the goal of developing our own recipe for the famous blue. The architect Max Dudler used our formula for the new Museumsinsel subway station in Berlin, creating not only a new starry sky, but also a modern, spectacular demonstration of the indescribable magic of ultramarine blue.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
