Spanish moss is also called “Fairy’s hair”, “Grandfather’s beard” and “Louisiana moss”. It is a silvery, bearded plant that hangs in the branches of large trees in subtropical regions. The rootless plant thrives on air and moisture. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a parasite: it creates shadows and holds moisture for its host. This reciprocity is key to using Spanish moss in a color concept. When placed near impetuous colors and strong contrasts, it will adopt a luminous glow that can be gray, or green, or silver. The space that hosts it will look more balanced by virtue of this shimmering in-between color.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
