KT 16.006 Misty blue

Smoky Mountain blue – the color of pine forests on faraway mountains.

Referenz - KT 13.023 Dark turquoise blue lightened

Farbfunktion - materialization

Wirksamkeit - good under all lighting conditions

Blue light is the light scattered most by atmospheric particles, which is why the sky is blue. Nearby mountains look dark and clear against the sky’s blue because little light is scattered between mountain and viewer. Distant mountains are seen through a thick slice of scattered light however, causing them to look light and hazy. The hue depends on the nature of the atmospheric particles. Pines release terpenes into the air, shifting the colors towards gray, and distant mountains rich in pines may show this color. It famously complements other colors found in mountain panoramas.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
