KT 32.011 Gray

Like gray velvet in a jewelry case – objects in space will glow like lustrous pearls.

Referenz - Le Corbusier, Salubra wallpaper, 1931

Farbfunktion - differentiation

Wirksamkeit - good under all lighting conditions

The reference this color is based on is in the middle of a dark-to-light series of gray wallpapers selected by Le Corbusier. Analysis confirmed that it was made with bone black and lead white. Replacing lead white with Champagne chalk yields this color, which is as reliably warm and vibrant as all blends of velvety ivory black and Champagne chalk are. The all-embracing warmth persists even when the lighting is cold and artificial. This gray makes surfaces look shadowed, and lighter or more colorful objects look brilliant against the velvety gray background.

"Their colors are just unbelievably beautiful, whether the sun is shining, or it's rainy weather, or night, with every play of light they look different again. Incredible."
