Volcanic sand or "black sand" is a weathering product of black lava rocks. The silicate-rich gray pigment with a hint of red covers a different color range than the umbers, which have an earthy ochre hue. This paint color can be combined with almost all light sand colors for beautifully harmonic color effects. Entire color concepts can be based on the natural harmony of lighter and darker sand colors since pairs such as this one and KT 17.004 House by the sea never conflict. Instead, they enhance and enforce each other.
